Nominations for Olivier Awards 2016 announced

The nominations for the Olivier Awards 2016 have been announced. The ceremony will take place at the Royal Opera House on 3 April 2016.

Both The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet have been nominated for awards.

The Royal Opera's productions of Cavalleria Rusticana/Pagliacci and Morgen und Abend have both been nominated for Best New Opera Production, while Antonio Pappano has been nominated for the Outstanding Achievement in Opera award for his conducting of Cavalleria Rusticana/Pagliacci, Guillaume Tell and Król Roger.

Wayne McGregor's Royal Ballet production of Woolf Works has been nominated for Best New Dance Production, while Alessandra Ferri has been nominated in the Outstanding Achievement in Dance category for her performances in Chéri and Woolf Works.

Carlos Acosta has been nominated in the Best Theatre Choreographer category for Guys and Dolls.

Javier De Frutos receives a nomination in the Outstanding Achievement in Dance category the for his choreography of Anatomy Of A Passing Cloud.

Other nominees include Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance and Benedict Cumberbatch in the Best Actor in a Play category; Gemma Arterton and Nicole Kidman in the Best Actress in a Play category; and Judi Dench in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category.

One award - the Magic Radio Audience Award - will be chosen by public vote. Cast your vote for the Audience Award.
